Ryan Reynolds Jokes About Jonathan Bailey’s “Perfection” at the National Board of Review Awards
Ryan Reynolds couldn’t help but be impressed by Jonathan Bailey’s performance in Wicked. Speaking at the National Board of Review Awards, Reynolds humorously pointed out that Bailey seemed “too perfect” in every scene of the film.
In his speech, Reynolds, who attended the event after Blake Lively’s lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, joked about Bailey’s undeniable charm on screen. “Jonathan Bailey is objectively perfect—maybe too perfect,” he said, adding, “I have one note: fewer scenes with Mr. Bailey.”
Reynolds continued, “Being good is great, but being great is bad. You can’t just spread charisma all over the place; it might feel nice, but it could throw off the entire industry.” He also teased that Bailey’s performance made other actors look “terrible.” Laughing, Reynolds added, “I can’t work harder than I already do, and plastic surgery is scary. So, Johnny, let’s slow down on the talent or leave town!”
Bailey plays Prince Fiyero in Wicked: Part One, alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.
