Inspiration Behind the Residency: U2’s Immersive Experience
Chesney’s decision to perform at the Sphere was influenced by his experience watching U2’s immersive concert film V-U2 at the venue. “We were completely overwhelmed by the experience. It wasn’t just about seeing the band; it felt like the show was happening all around us. Once I saw that, I started thinking about how we could do something similar with our show,” he explained.
